Since the GDC in March and the announcement of Project Morpheus, VR technology has once again been a hot topic.

For Sony, this second major foray into VR is far more than just an experiment, as SCE CEO Andrew House explains. explainedPromises have already been made, and significant investments are planned for Project Morpheus.

Now that the 3D trend has largely subsided, VR is seen as a new opportunity to give the consumer electronics business a new boost, as the experience can be significantly more comprehensive.

“We now know that we can reach a point where we deliver a magical sense of presence – where you can trick the brain into thinking you are actually in that place. We believe this could be really interesting for the next frontier of game development.”

The release date for Project Morpheus is currently unknown.
