It's the first Tuesday of the month, and that means Sony is releasing the three today. New PS Plus Essential games for September unlocks. We'll give you a brief overview of the free games and what time you can start the download.
When will the new games be released?
The three games are scheduled from today, the September 3, 2024Available. In most cases, the download will be activated around 11 a.m. It's never possible to say for sure, but the titles should be available for download by 1 p.m. at the latest. We'll post a brief update to this article when they are.

PS Plus Essentials in September 2024: These are the new games
As is often the case, in September 2024 there are three games that you can download at no extra cost with an active PS Plus subscription of any tier. This month, these are the following titles:
- Harry Potter Quidditch Champions (Our special on Quidditch)
- MLB The Show 24
- Little Nightmares 2
After increased criticism of Sony's game selection in recent months, there should be less to criticize this month.
Our preview of Harry Potter Quidditch Champions There's also a game included that's just being released today, meaning it's essentially free for PS Plus members right from the start. The title lets you play as a witch or wizard from the Harry Potter universe, competing on a broomstick in the sport familiar from the books and films. The goal is to get a ball into one of the opposing team's three hoops and catch the small, agile Golden Snitch. You can see what it all looks like in action in the trailer here:
Sports fans will also be accompanied by MLB The Show 24 at their expense. The baseball simulation was only released in March and promises to be the most authentic adaptation of the sport, which is especially popular in the USA. Last but not least, you can enjoy... Little Nightmares 2 a small but very good horror adventure.
