The last remaining PS Vita owners are currently struggling with a problem that prevents them from accessing the handheld's built-in PlayStation Store.
Since the early morning hours, these have been displaying the error code: NP-8099-6 confrontedThe message states that the requested content is no longer available for purchase. It is unknown whether this is a bug or an intentional change. Sony has not yet commented on the issue.
However, there is speculation that this could be related to the initially planned shutdown of the PS Vita Store, which Sony ultimately abandoned after large protests from players.
There was also talk that some titles in the PlayStation Store have been given an expiration date and will no longer be available for purchase after a certain date. The download list, from which you can still download your previously purchased content, remains available.
It is unlikely that Sony intentionally took the PS Vita Store offline and that a solution to the problem will be available soon.
We'll keep you updated.
