Sony has once again released PS4 sales figures, which continue to decline. Only 1.5 million units were sold in the last quarter, continuing the downward trend.
Overall, the PS4 sales figures currently at 113.8 million unitsAs Sony confirmed in its latest quarterly report, the number of consoles sold has fallen by almost twice as many in the same period last year. This downward trend is undoubtedly due in part to the approaching launch of the PS5, for which pre-orders are breaking all records.
PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan confirmed this. already yesterday, Tuesday, that in 12 hours as many PS5 consoles were pre-ordered as PS4 consoles were once pre-ordered in 12 weeks.
PlayStation Plus is gaining ground
PlayStation Plus subscriber numbers continued to grow, now reaching 45.9 million users. That's roughly 9 million more than in the same period last year. Software sales also increased, totaling approximately 81 million units. Of those, 12.4 million were first-party titles exclusive to PlayStation.
Based on these figures, the forecast for the current fiscal year has also been further increased, with an expected profit of 2.87 billion US dollars.
Things will get interesting with the next quarterly report, which should also include the first figures for the PlayStation 5.
