The versatile applications of the DualSense controller's adaptive triggers for the PS5 have been described several times. Now, this feature is being demonstrated.
The adaptive triggers primarily provide their own resistance, which developers can use, for example, to simulate the trigger pull of a weapon. As an extreme example, it was mentioned that the triggers can even block completely if the trigger mechanism jams.
In Gran Turismo 7 Do the triggers function like an ABS system, as GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi explains? once explained:
"I think the most effective use of the adaptive trigger [in Gran Turismo 7] is to depict the operation of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). With a typical ABS, the brake pressure is temporarily reduced while the driver applies pressure to the pedal. The adaptive trigger is well-suited to replicating this pedal feel and allows the player to accurately sense and understand the relationship between the desired braking force and tire grip."

In general, initial impressions of the PS5 and the DualSense controller are quite enthusiastic, with some already seeing more innovations than even higher resolutions or frame rates.
