Sony and the various retailers are currently looking for ways to satisfy as many PS5 customers as possible. The focus is currently on addressing duplicate orders.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Media Markt and Saturn experienced a small wave of cancellations, specifically affecting those who had pre-ordered more than one console. Some of these customers found a notification in their email inbox informing them that either their duplicate pre-order, or in some cases their entire pre-order, had been cancelled.
According to Media Markt/Saturn, there is a clear instruction from Sony that each customer only pre-order a PS5 console It's unclear how this applies to the disc version and the Digital Edition. It was quite possible to order two consoles, as they are listed under different product numbers. It's possible that these pre-orders will be reviewed more closely, although Saturn seems to explicitly allocate one PS5 per variant, meaning one disc and one digital edition.

Media Markt/Saturn assures customers that deposits will be refunded immediately in case of cancellations. However, if your entire pre-order has been cancelled, it is advisable to contact the retailer to at least reactivate one console and avoid falling further down the waiting list.
Delivery date for launch not certain
At the same time, Media Markt/Saturn stated that they cannot guarantee every pre-order customer will receive their console at launch. However, they are in close contact with Sony to meet demand as much as possible. Similar reports are already coming from other retailers, some of whom have postponed delivery dates until 2021. with bottlenecks Expect until then.
As always, it's important to regularly check your order status and contact the retailer if anything is unclear. If your pre-order is still active, you can assume everything will proceed smoothly for now.
