The PS5 Pro had a bumpy start, especially with games like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which were apparently originally developed using an older version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology. Respawn addressed the issues immediately. angenommen And there's good news: A new update brings improvements to the game's performance and graphics quality – at least partially.
The Star Wars Jedi Update in detail
As developer Respawn Entertainment posted on Reddit informsA patch specifically for the PS5 Pro has been released. This patch is intended to address some of the biggest criticisms raised by players since the release. Improvements include:
- Reduced flickering in volumetric fog
- Update to the latest PSSR version
- Improved reflection rendering, especially on the Koboh River
- Less flickering in leaves and vegetation
The first player reports show that the changes are noticeable. One user writes: "I tested the leaf issue, and it has improved significantly in resolution mode. However, the problem still exists in performance mode, especially with distant objects. It's an improvement, but not perfect."
Another notes that the flickering is still present, but less pronounced:
"The game desperately needs an FSR-3 toggle option like in Avatar or Outlaws."
The PS5 Pro has its pros and cons.
While the technical advancements are evident, criticism of the PS5 Pro persists. The new console was supposed to offer a seamless next-gen experience, but games like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor show that there is still room for improvement.
Sony itself has remained silent so far and has not officially commented on the problems. It remains to be seen whether future updates will deliver the hoped-for performance. The update for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor This still shows that the PS5 Pro has potential if the technical hurdles are overcome. Nevertheless, the impression remains that the new console is currently a work in progress – and not just with this game. Whether Sony makes improvements here could be crucial for the long-term success of the PS5 Pro. Until then, patience is key – and perhaps choosing the higher resolution mode after all.
I haven't used my Series X at all since I got a PS5 Pro. I'm currently playing BG3 and using a few mods. Sometimes I'm playing with seven companions. There's absolutely no lag. I'm sure it won't be on the Series X either. I could theoretically test it thanks to crossplay, but I don't feel like it.
…that's exactly what I meant by: "wait and see how it develops". And there's more to come.
