With many new PlayStation consoles sure to be under the Christmas tree this year, a considerable number of new players will also be joining the PlayStation Network.
Currently, there are some minor issues when creating a new PSN account and waiting for the confirmation email required to complete the registration. Specifically, there are delays in sending the email, so you may need to be a little patient. Therefore, a new registration is not necessary.

The announced DDoS attacks on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live have not yet occurred. While there were minor problems at Electronic Arts Last night, however, a complete and widespread shutdown has so far been avoided.
