Next to ,Detroit: Become Human'Developer Quantic Dream is also working on an experimental VR experience, as studio co-founder David Cage reveals.
While nothing concrete is currently planned in this regard, the team has been encouraged to explore the technology. Furthermore, they want to realize their own style in VR should they actually pursue a project.
“We have all VR systems installed in the studio and I encourage my team to try them out,” so Cage. “We downloaded every game on every system to try it out and understand where people are now, what works and what doesn’t, and what we could bring to this medium. The idea isn’t to do something with VR because it’s VR. It’s more about saying something about this medium that hasn’t been said before.”
Quantic Dream is personally convinced of VR's potential, so we can very likely expect something truly special here, something not commonly seen in the industry. However, it will probably be some time before that happens.
