TeamKill Media has released the PS4 version of their shooter. Quantum error Production has been discontinued, and the game will now only ship the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions. This decision comes shortly before the end of development.
In a comprehensive Declaration TeamKill Media writes that it would have meant too many compromises to Quantum error to bring it to the last-gen platform. An Xbox One version was never planned anyway. A decision you hear about again and again these days.
This states:
"Unfortunately, we have to cancel the PS4 version of Quantum Error. Even though the game was developed for the PS5 from the start, we still hoped that we could make a PS4 version, but given the level of quality we achieved with Quantum Error and 60 fps gameplay, we have come to the conclusion that there is no way for us to deliver a version on PS4 that does justice to what the PS5 will deliver."
Downgrades and a different experience
A PS4 version would therefore require too many downgrades and changes to assets, lighting, and much more. With less storage and slower hard drive speeds, it would also be a completely different experience, incomparable to the PS5 version and unfair to PS4 players.
The experience is also different on the Xbox Series X|S version, which will be released at a later date. Currently, the developers are working on optimizing the game to compensate for the slower SSD. This fact was particularly noticeable yesterday, Monday. Xbox players in uproar, who still refuse to believe that the PS5 has the edge here.
A Declaration Today, delivery is often delayed, requiring a lot of workarounds to compensate for this speed difference.
"DirectStorage doesn't fully support the Xbox's SSD at 2,4 Gbps compared to the PS5's 5,8 Gbps. As someone tweeted a day ago, these are limitations. This isn't a console war, but a hardware/software workaround issue."
The development of Quantum error It is nearing its end, which is why the gold status and probably also the release can be announced shortly, which will first take place on PS5.

That's right. People are already talking about the PS6.
The PS4 was great, but it's simply old.
Sure, the Series X has a slower SSD. Is that the only reason it's coming months later? How much did Sony pay?
Sony didn't pay, but Steam will probably run from a micro SD card ;)
