The triggers are a series of tweets, in which TeamKill Media releases an update on the current state of development. In it, they confirm that Quantum error It's practically finished and ready for release. However, optimization for the Xbox Series X|S is taking a bit longer, as the shooter was primarily developed for the faster SSD of the PS5.

"We have started working on optimizing the game for Xbox, but unfortunately it will definitely take some time; QE was designed to run on the extremely fast SSD of the PS5, the Xbox SSD is considerably slower and therefore we have to change a lot to compensate for this speed difference."

The Xbox Series X SSD is slower

This statement has particularly enraged the Xbox camp, who immediately feel disadvantaged and seemingly fear that Quantum error It runs worse on their console. Furthermore, they argue that Sony's claim is also true. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart It was supposedly only possible with an SSD, but now it's possible on the PC after all. with a standard HDD It's happening. Therefore, one shouldn't trust such statements without verifying them.

TeamKill Media counters that they will have the same quality and fidelity on Xbox Series as on PS5, it just takes more time. They are currently investigating this.

"We didn't say the game wouldn't run on Xbox; the game runs at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X with the same graphical fidelity as on PS5. We were simply pointing out that the current issue we're working on is that the SSD is a bit slower, and we need to figure that out."

In closing, the developer writes that the game will speak for itself once it's released. Until then, they've released two new gameplay videos.

For a next-gen game, it doesn't look like next-gen.
Looks like lots of linear levels, dark, and a PS3 color palette. Whether you really need an SSD for it is questionable, but I'll keep an eye on it since it's a horror game.
