Developer Mercury Steam has today released the new character Rak Mayura in 'Raiders of the Broken Planet', one of the most famous hunters in the galaxy.
This new raider belongs to the Umbra Wardogs faction and is the final character released as part of Raiders of Broken Planet's third campaign, Hades Betrayal. Rak can now be recruited by all players, regardless of which campaign they own.
Rak Mayura is the most feared hunter in the galaxy. Single-handedly, he has hunted the galaxy's deadliest monsters and enjoys breeding his own kind of deadly creatures to aid him in these hunts – he affectionately calls them his "Pishachas," inspired by the folklore of his Hindu roots.
Now he and his Pischachas face a new challenge on the other side of the galaxy. Lured by the prospect of new hunting grounds, Rak joined the Umbra Wardogs' pursuit as a tracker of Aleph caches. However, shortly after the disastrous arrival of the Terran fleet, Rak broke his contract with General Marmalade's force, after an incident in which one of his Pischachas blew up an entire Wardog unit was forgotten.
Since that day, Rak Mayura has traversed the Broken Planet from one end to the other in search of the greatest predators the planet has to offer. No one knows what Harec offered the infamous hunter in exchange for his joining the Raiders, but the promise of hunting the planet's most fearsome prey—his former Terran compatriots—undoubtedly sealed Rak Mayura's fate.
