Ubisoft has announced a major update for 'Rainbow Six Siege' for today, Thursday, which includes a new map in PvP mode, operator and weapon balancing, and numerous bug fixes. Ubisoft promises the following adjustments and improvements.

Revised Operator: Tachanka

“On November 13, 2016, operator Alexsandr Senaviev was declared clinically dead for two minutes on the battlefield. While he recovered at Hereford Base, his mounted RP-46 Degtyarev machine gun was inspected. It had been decommissioned in the 1960s and was among the last machine guns manufactured in the Soviet Union. Knowing the operator's fondness for such antique pieces, Six commissioned an upgrade of the weapon to comply with safety regulations. The engineering team, led by Elena “Mira” Alvarez del Manzano, added a ballistic shield to protect his head from frontal fire. This shield can be destroyed independently of the rest of the gun. Mira was also tasked with a minor modification to the mounted LMG to add a personal touch to Tachanka.”

New map: Bartlett University

"With the patch for the current season's enhancements, the redesigned PvP map 'Bartlett University' will be released. Previously only available in PvE mode, the map will be available to everyone starting December 15, 2016. The newly revised map removes gas and PvE elements from the original design and offers improved destruction options and a clearer layout for easier navigation."

The complete overview, including the bug fixes, can be found on the official homepage to the game.
