While it frustrates fans that 'Red Dead Redemption 2' from Rockstar postponed to next year As a result, more and more publishers are delighted. Following Ubisoft, Electronic Arts now also believes that this opens up new opportunities for everyone.

The fourth quarter of the year, which includes the Christmas shopping season, is incredibly competitive. A title like Red Dead Redemption 2 would likely have faced particularly tough competition this year. On the other hand, the advantages of such titles are evident, as seen with GTA V. According to EA's CFO, Blake Jorgensen, GTA V boosted the entire market and fueled its growth. Console sales, in particular, were significantly driven, ultimately benefiting everyone.

The delay of Red Dead Redemption 2 should therefore not be viewed as negatively as it is further stated.

"I don't think it bothers us much, but I would say we're happy about it. [...] it opens up small opportunities for everyone."

From a purely financial perspective, the company is confident that the delay will have a significantly positive impact on its figures, as it allows for better game planning within this timeframe. However, the true impact of Red Dead Redemption on the market will only become clear in a few months.
