For the story, this could mean more backstory, more connections to later installments, and therefore more points of entry for fans who want to experience the series in one go. Have you already played it? Or how do you know that?
It's speculated that Leon is the main character and Grace will have a supporting role, similar to Ashley. Her story could be told through flashbacks. Andy from ScreenFire Germany has analyzed this well.
Wait until then.
I absolutely believe that.
I was already out of the running with Dusk Golem. That guy just keeps guessing; he knows nothing. He didn't know that Raccoon City plays a role in RE 9 or that Grace is the main character. He only ever talked about Leon and a supposed open world. None of that happened. It's beyond me how he's still considered a reliable source. What an incredibly brilliant insider.
Paul Filz, have you played it already? Or how do you know that?

Kai Burton: Capcom themselves already said in a developer interview that Leon would have been the wrong main character for the heightened horror approach they're pursuing with Requiem. So if anything, it's the other way around. Leon will more likely be a supporting character.
Paul Filz in Resi 8 also led us astray in the run-up to the game.
Incidentally, M2 Zero is the studio behind the Resident Evil 3 remake and Separate Ways. They're reportedly not very well-positioned, hence the development problems. Code Veronica is the studio that made the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes. Resident Evil 9 is being developed by the director of Resident Evil 7, though I don't know which studio that is at the moment. Capcom studios are divided into divisions.
And Resident Evil 2 PS One Edition is available for free in the PSN store.
Sounds good, doesn't it? It's amazing how some people get so excited when they read "open world." I'd be thrilled with that, whether it's 9 or Code Veronica.
"Would it Code: Veronica not even offer an even stronger alternative….“
I would have preferred Resident Evil 5. Co-op is EVERYTHING better.
Resident Evil 9 looks really good. I saw the 10-minute gameplay video.
I wouldn't buy it right now; I need more information.
It's good to have the choice between ego or third person.
That's a smart move by Capcom; this way they appeal to more gamers, and you can choose what you prefer. A VR mode would be even better.
