Resident Evil: Veronica will not feature a first-person perspective and will remain a purely third-person game. This was clarified by well-known Capcom insider Dusk Golem after the initial trailer at Summer Game Fest briefly misled fans.
The video started in first-person perspective, leaving the community wondering if the camera choice would be changed again after "Resident Evil Requiem." It isn't. The view remains the classic over-the-shoulder perspective.
An old game in a completely new guise
Players should still prepare for significant changes. According to Dusk Golem, nothing will be radically removed, but the developers are noticeably shaking up the original. Content will be moved, remixed, and heavily reinterpreted.
Capcom itself spricht So far, we only know about the escape from Rockfort Island. The legendary Antarctic section is completely missing from the official description, which initially raises questions. Are the developers cutting the second part of the game or keeping it secret for PR purposes? Anything is possible.

The core story remains unchanged. Claire Redfield searches for Chris in Paris, is captured, and ends up in an island prison. The story takes place a few months after the events of Part 2. Technically, the controls have been completely modernized and are based on the latest remakes.
The reassurance regarding the game's prospects is welcome, but skepticism remains. "Resident Evil Code: Veronica" thrives on its bizarre atmosphere and the relentless pacing between the island and the icy wasteland. If Capcom tampers with too much here, they risk alienating veteran players. The remake of part 4 demonstrated their ability to modernize. Whether that will translate to the extremely intricate structure of Veronica remains to be seen.
Do you consider the Antarctica section indispensable, or should Capcom streamline this part for the remake?
