Focus Entertainment and Asobi have after the recent leak nun Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Officially unveiled – a new chapter in this dark medieval universe. The game is a prequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem and takes place approximately 15 years before the second installment. The story centers on the new protagonist, Sophia. Who Requiem Those who have played the game will already be familiar with her – now she takes center stage as the main character and gets her own self-contained story. According to the developers, no prior knowledge is required.
A different time, a new focus
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy It doesn't simply want to duplicate the successful formula of its predecessors, but rather consciously set new priorities. Instead of the tranquil stealth sections surrounding Amicia and Hugo, things are now much more intense. Sophia is a plunderer, agile and battle-hardened – and the adventure unfolds accordingly, with a more active pace. At its heart is her escape from a merciless army and her search for the roots of an ancient curse.
The journey leads to the island of the Minotaur, where the lines between myth and reality blur. Players explore perilous paths, solve light puzzles using a Minoan sphere, and prevail in battles against enemies who are also after a mysterious artifact. The narrative constantly shifts between past and present, intertwining Sophia's story with ancient events – including a mysterious second character whose fate seems closely intertwined with that of the heroine.
Old world, new dangers
Those who prefer the classic Plague TaleThose hoping for a more immersive experience will still get a dense atmosphere, visually impressive locations, and the theme of "curse and legacy." At the same time, the new approach brings more action, more direct confrontations, and a different kind of threat: no longer just rats, but an intangible presence hunts Sophia through the game. What exactly is behind it is still unknown – but it seems likely that it is connected to the Macula in some way.
Our preview of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy The series opens itself to new impulses – without abandoning its foundation of tragedy, mystery, and inner conflict. The release is planned for 2026.
Will the new direction of A Plague Tale appeal to you – or do you miss the familiar dynamic of Amicia and Hugo?
