Developer Climax today released a playable demo for their co-op shooter 'RiftStar Raiders', preparing for its upcoming release at the end of February. The demo offers a taste of both the single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes.
Regarding the game, it says:
"The 'Spiralarm' galaxy in the depths of space is in danger. The 'WarSwarm', a deadly form of collective artificial intelligence, seeks to conquer and destroy the universe as we know it. Players are tasked with saving it. The Federation's most notorious outlaws, the Raiders, are called upon to defend the galaxy with cunning, courage, and firepower... and to pocket a tidy profit in the process."
Inspired by retro and arcade classics, RiftStar Raiders is a modern take on the vertical space shoot 'em up, where players, solo or in teams, unleash their firepower to plunder nine impressive, story-driven missions. Whether battling rival pirate gangs or the alien WarSwarm, pilots can maximize their profits by looting cash and other treasure from their enemies to upgrade their ship's systems, weapons, and shields, and to enhance its engines. A wide variety of weapon combinations allows players to tailor their playstyle to each mission: from a tank who can take a beating to a support role, or a damage dealer who's always in the thick of the action.

The full version of RiftStar Raiders will be released on February 27, 2018.
