A demo for "SaGa Emerald Beyond" is now available for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC. Square Enix's approach with this is quite unusual.
Depending on the platform on which "SaGa Emerald Beyond" is played, the player has a different experience in learning more about the respective main characters. In total, several hours can be spent experiencing the game from a different perspective each time.
Players discover a story that branches out and unfolds based on their decisions and actions. The more players explore the game's wonderfully diverse worlds, the more numerous these options become. With multiple endings and countless scenes to discover, players experience a unique story with each playthrough.
The following options are available in the demo:
- Tsunanori Mido (PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4) – A man who can manipulate animated puppets called Kugutsu to protect the barrier of his hometown, Miyako City. When the city is plagued by all sorts of supernatural phenomena, Tsunanori embarks on a journey to other worlds to find the four elemental spirits who can restore order to the spirit realm.
- ameya (Nintendo Switch) – Ameya is an aspiring witch who arrives in Miyako City and must pose as a student for her final exams. After being attacked by a stranger, Ameya loses all her magical powers and must find a way to regain them in order to pass her exams.
- Diva No. 5 (PC) – A mech singer from the world of Avalon, created for singing and dancing. However, after singing a forbidden song, Diva's memory and singing ability are blocked. This deprives her of her livelihood and music itself. In her despair, Diva abandons her "human" body, accepts an invitation from a secret society, and leaves Avalon.
Those who play the demo of "SaGa Emerald Beyond" will also gain a small advantage, as the progress will then be carried over to the full version once the game is released on April 25th.
