Saints Row IV - Don't be afraid of GTA, says Volition

Despite the release of GTA V this September, Volition and Deep Silver are not afraid to enter the market with Saints Row IV.

"It's a hell of a game," Producer Jim Boone commented on this, focusing primarily on the differences between the two franchises. Since the initial release, so much work has been done on the series that the differences are so significant, it's like comparing Call of Duty to Dead Space.

"If we had adopted the Saints Row 1 style, which is very reminiscent of GTA in terms of style and content, I would be a little nervous now, to be honest, but I think you can see that we now have a completely different game."

Volition trusts that there are many species within the genre, so they no longer threaten each other.

Nevertheless, Volition is taking advantage of an earlier release date compared to GTA V and will release the game on August 23, 2013.
