SEGA today announced Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, a new racing game featuring "Sonic the Hedgehog" and a fantastic roster of SEGA All-Stars.

In the sequel to the highly successful Sonic & SEGA All-Star's Racing, the characters now each have their own unique, transforming vehicles that adapt to any type of terrain in the best possible way. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed brings together SEGA's most popular characters, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, and AiAi, who compete against newcomers like Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe and Vyse of Skies from Arcadia.

The inspiration for the brand-new, dynamic environments and racetracks of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed draws from SEGA's rich and illustrious history in video game history. On the "Super Monkey Ball's Temple Trouble" track, when the road gives way beneath the player, their car transforms into a boat, hurtling at breakneck speed through rapids and rivers. Meanwhile, the "Panzer Dragoon"-inspired "Dragon Canyon" track takes the player to the skies, granting them complete control of their aircraft. This allows them to perform incredible aerial maneuvers, outmaneuvering opponents and obstacles before racing back across the finish line in a vehicle transformed back into a car.

In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, players once again have the opportunity to use the popular All-Star Moves. The new gameplay mechanic allows the All-Star Gauge to fill faster by racing with daring and style. A completely new, fair weapon system ensures that, once the player has acquired the necessary skills, their vehicle can block or evade attacks. This makes every race a unique and exciting experience, whether on water, in the air, or on land. The improved multiplayer mode allows players to settle old rivalries and set new records online, while the Grand Prix mode and the competitive Battle Arenas will clearly demonstrate that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is determined to revolutionize the rules of racing.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released later this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, as well as for Nintendo 3DS and as a digital download for PC.
