NekCom is today unveiling their new post-apocalyptic RPG Showa American Story a story set in the 80s. In it, one encounters a "teenage girl resurrected from the dead".
The backstory states that Japan, with its powerful economy, acquired most of the United States. A surge in immigration has consequently firmly established Japanese culture on the American continent. The two rapidly merging cultures also fostered conflicts, which were inevitable; nevertheless, over time, the citizens gradually adapted to a way of life they had never imagined.
But a mysterious catastrophic incident dramatically changes the world, the social order is long gone, and a young girl mysteriously awakens from the dead, only to find a brand new, wild, post-apocalyptic world with zombies, monsters, and human survivors of different origins and beliefs.

Goal of Showa American Story The story seeks to answer why the protagonist, Choko, embarks on an adventurous journey across the United States that will change her forever. This journey takes us through the 80s, a golden era filled with fond memories and, at the same time, stories of people and survivors from diverse backgrounds.
The game features free-flow gameplay and a brutal fighting style where you fight against hordes of zombies and monsters, and have to move, attack and dodge in countless fast-paced combat situations.
In your camper van, which serves as Choko's new home, you can also upgrade yourself, improve Choko's status, and unlock abilities through various fun activities using all kinds of resources found during exploration and combat, including weapons, outfits, collectibles, EXPs, and last but not least, unexpected nostalgic minigames.
