Sierra and the Norwegian development studio Rock Pocket Games are joining forces to release Shiftlings, a quirky puzzle-platformer, this spring.
Shiftlings is set in an intergalactic reality show. In this quirky puzzle-platformer, two space guardians travel the galaxy, facing complex challenges along the way. The unique feature of Shiftlings: the two eccentrics are connected by an air-filled tube, allowing them to exchange gases between their spacesuits.
This allows a character to suddenly gain a massive amount of size and weight. While this reduces their mobility, it also gives them new ways to reach new areas and solve puzzles. The complete adventure comprises over 50 levels and is designed for both solo play and local two-player co-op.
“Shiftlings is the kind of game that we knew we wanted to work with as soon as we played it,”, explains Bob Loya, Senior Director of External Development at Sierra. "Rock Pocket's imaginative approach to the puzzle-platformer genre perfectly aligns with Sierra's ambition: to identify great indie talent in the development landscape and enable them to share their unique creations with the world."
Shiftlings is expected to be released in spring 2015. (pr)
