On October 31st launches Silent Hill: AscensionA live experience where players participate in real-time decisions, thereby influencing the course of the story and events. However, the global time zones also create some "problems".

The primary focus is Silent Hill: Ascension in the North American time zone, which unfortunately means the middle of the night for Europeans. Here in Great Britain, it starts Silent Hill: Ascension for example at 2 a.m.

Decisions are available sooner

To ensure that all players can participate equally in the decisions, these will be available up to 24 hours in advance, while important decisions can even be made several days in advance.

This is now confirmed once again by Genvid CEO Jacob Navok Twitter (X), where it says:

“Europe is very important to us, and we designed the product so that everyone has the opportunity to be part of the experience, regardless of their time zone. To begin with, all options are available at least 24 hours in advance. Important decisions are made several days ahead. You don't have to be there live. There are some things that are only available live, but I established the rule early in production that anything that changes the outcome of the story must be participated in asynchronously.”

It is generally assumed that many users Silent Hill: Ascension will experience it asynchronously, which works, for example, as follows:

If you're in Europe, you can log in as soon as you wake up (or at any time) and watch the latest scenes on VOD. There you'll also see upcoming decisions you can participate in, and other information. The key point, however, is that the participation loop was designed to work perfectly regardless of your time zone.

Finally, a technical note: the VODs will be available in 4K HDR, while the live stream will be of slightly lower quality. This actually gives the whole thing an advantage.
