After the last Silent Hill game by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro crash-landed Since then, things have become quiet around the series, whose future is anything but certain.

Former composer Akira Yamaoka has expressed interest in working on the franchise again, as he stated in an interview. However, he cannot currently say whether this will actually happen, as he himself has not worked at Konami since 2009.

"I really can't say whether there will be another Silent Hill or not," said Yamaoka"First of all, I'm happy that fans of the series all over the world keep asking us about it. Personally, I would of course be delighted if there were a new Silent Hill, but of course I can't say that for sure."

It's also unclear what a modern, new Silent Hill would look like. Ideas and ways of thinking have changed drastically since then, even within the original team, and the technologies used today are completely different. Therefore, it's impossible to say whether the game would still be as great as it once was.

Whether and how the Silent Hill series will continue is, as mentioned, completely uncertain at present. Konami is currently focusing on PES and the Metal Gear series in the console market.
