While one patiently waits for a new game Silent Hill If they wait, the plans for another film could be much further along. It could even be released as early as 2023.
Admittedly, another film would be quite surprising, after the second installment in 2012 was a pretty big flop. Silent Hill However, director Christophe Gans has some ideas about it and a script has already been written, as he reveals to the magazine Jeuxvideo.
It reads:
“The script for a new Silent Hill film, completely independent of the two previous films, respects the evolution of Silent Hill,” Gans said. “Most of the time, these are standalone stories. Silent Hill is a bit like the Twilight Zone, the fourth dimension, a place where anything and everything can happen. I’ve been working on a new Silent Hill that is a Silent Hill of 2023, since the film would be released next year, 2023, and not the Silent Hill I envisioned in 2006. It’s a Silent Hill for today’s audience while showing the utmost respect for the saga. I’m aware that Silent Hill is a very great video game franchise and a work of art in the truest sense of the word.”
Film adaptation by new standards
It's unclear who is behind the production of the new film. Streaming productions from Netflix, Amazon, or HBO are currently popular, and it's certainly possible that some of them are from that channel. Silent Hill would fit in well. With resident evil Here you can already get adaptations to the times, including & Co. Silent Hill would follow according to Gans.
"It's clear that today's horror cinema is no longer the same as the horror cinema of 2006. Not that the horror cinema of 2006 wasn't good, but every genre goes through an evolution. I try to consider what I've seen recently, what's more original and surprising in terms of horror films, and see if the seeds or even the expression of that are present in Silent Hill. Silent Hill has always been a game outside the norm and ahead of its time."
More details will probably only become available here in the coming months.

I like both movies. Better game-movie adaptations would be better.
