Wales Interactive has announced the release window for Happening Ritual The game's release date has been narrowed down to 2023 for consoles and PC. A new trailer provides further insights.
Happening Ritual is a spiritual successor to occult horror Maid of Sker, in which you travel alone or with up to four players to survive the supernatural onslaught of the Silent Ones, known as The Quiet Ones. These are also featured in the new trailer.
Sker Island has recruited new elites, each with unique abilities that will force you to adapt your playstyle, constantly relocate, or rely on the support of your teammates. Old enemies aren't the only ones cursing the lands of Sker; there are many more new faces—some even faceless—that seek to destroy you.
You can defend yourself with weapons and ammunition found at the laughing policeman's stand at various locations on the map. The goal is to reach a higher base level and unlock weapon ranks with unique upgrades like the SUPER CHARGER for bonus buffs or visible steampunk-inspired improvements.
For those who want more, it's also possible to customize your character and wear interchangeable in-game masks inspired by all forms of horror: folk, gothic, zombie, science fiction, the supernatural, and more.
Happening Ritual It will be released in the first quarter of 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC.
