Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games will expand massively next year in order to be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

The studio, based in San Francisco and Melbourne, is set to grow to 300 employees, which is why they are currently looking for around 100 new staff members. The number of inquiries has already been enormous, as COO Andy Wilson stated in an interview explained:

“It was about viewing this moment as the first day of Sledgehammer Games’ second era, and not just as a celebration of what came before. Despite the studio’s success, we could see so much more we could do in the future: partly culturally, but also structurally, moving into more than one project, further growing the team in Melbourne, and so on. The great thing about Decade II, Day 1, was that it was actually the culmination of months of solid work to create a clear plan for the future. The result is a team and a studio with a clear roadmap and a tremendous opportunity, with many great new team members signing up for this journey.”

For Sledgehammer Games, this is a very exciting time, as they see themselves as a multi-project studio and are looking for the best people in the industry.

Which project will be undertaken besides Call of Duty is currently unclear. A new Black Ops game seems to be in the works first.
