The Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, known for its successful Like a Dragon-series, also remains active. With Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which will be released on February 21, 2025, and a new project codenamed Project Century The studio wants to reinforce its creative dominance.
Return of Virtua Fighter
Fans of classic fighting games also have reason to rejoice: SEGA is working on both... Legacy VIRTUA FIGHTER Project as well as a completely new spin-off of the series. Fans already got a first glimpse into the future of this iconic brand at a special VF Direct.
“We are proud to deliver exactly what our fans want – and more,” said Shuji Utsumi, President and COO of SEGA Corporation. In addition to these announcements, SEGA also recalled its recent revivals of iconic brands such as Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio.

With an exciting mix of new projects and nostalgic comebacks, SEGA shows that they are determined to win the hearts of players worldwide in 2024 as well.

I'm curious to see if Virtua Fighter will finally get a story background, even though the stories in Tekken and similar games are ridiculous (except for MK). At least they have some, and the customization option for characters is making a comeback, which many might not know: Virtua Fighter introduced it back then with the quest mode.
