It has been rumored for some time that Sony will revamp the PlayStation Plus service, which is rumored to be codenamed... Spartacus is being developed.

PlayStation Now could also be part of the new PlayStation Plus, potentially included in a premium PlayStation subscription. Sony is reportedly planning different tiers, each with varying levels of content.

There are indications that PlayStation Now may disappear as a separate service. current information from England, where Sony is said to have instructed brick-and-mortar retailers to remove PlayStation Now cards by January 19th and exchange them for a new promotion.

This could either mean a new pricing model for PlayStation Now or the speculated conversion to PlayStation Plus.

"Retailers have until the end of the day on Wednesday, January 19th, to remove all POS and ESD cards from all customer-facing areas and update their digital display areas in line with this week's upcoming commercial update…."

PS Plus in Tier Levels?

Should the animal levels prove true, how reported in DecemberTier 1 could include the existing PlayStation Plus offerings, while Tier 2 will additionally include a comprehensive library of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games. With Tier 3, players can also look forward to expanded demos, game streaming, and a library of classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games.

Whether Sony can finally compete with Microsoft's Game Pass with this remains to be seen and will likely depend primarily on the price. We may learn more in the next few days.

UpdateAccording to a statement from Sony, they only want to offer money-value cards in stores in the future, which can then be used to purchase the PlayStation Now subscription.
