The official SonyUK Twitter account, not PlayStation directly, published a somewhat confusing tweet last night, which immediately put the masses back into a euphoric mood.
Darin Hiesse is “GTA V is going to be amazing, especially on the PS4!” The fact that the tweet specifically referred to the PS4 prompted users to inquire further, and they tagged the tweet with a PS4 hashtag, which still didn't reveal this alleged leak.
This naturally caused quite a stir online, prompting Rockstar to issue a statement dismissing the whole thing as a typo. Sony also commented on its own announcement again with the words:
"Apologies for the typo about GTA V. It's due for release on PS3 on September 17th."
Is this really just a mistake, and if so, why was it only noticed so late, and why did it still fail to respond to further inquiries about whether the PS4 was actually meant? It's also questionable to what extent the people at Sony can be involved in PlayStation matters and make reliable statements here.
