Sony could be interested in the return of the PlayStation Experience They are working on it, as a recent trademark registration suggests. This could mean that a major event will take place again after a long time, following their repeated absence from E3, including this year.
This trademark was secured in June under the name PSX and is described as an event, trade fair, exhibition, etc. The details state:
"Organization and execution of exhibitions and conferences in the fields of entertainment and video games for non-business and non-commercial purposes; organization of online shows featuring video games and news; entertainment services, namely live performances featuring video games and news; educational services, namely conducting conferences, meetings and networking events for professionals and consumers in the field of video games; entertainment services in the form of providing news and information about current events and games via the internet, websites, podcasts, webcasts, webisodes, blogs and videos."

The last PSX was in 2018.
The last PlayStation Experience took place in 2018 and then simply disappeared, despite the event's immense popularity. Furthermore, the Asian shows have always been significantly smaller than the US event. Since then, the... State of Play instead, which, however, cannot replace a live event like a PlayStation Experience.
Whether the PlayStation Experience will ever return remains to be seen. Such a trademark registration is, of course, no guarantee, which is why one should definitely wait for an official announcement.
It was recently reported that Sony might be planning a larger event in the coming weeks to serve as a replacement for E3. However, this too is purely speculative at this point.
