There has long been speculation about what the secret Sony San Diago studio is working on, with the studio only admitting that a PS5 project is in development. Updated LinkedIn profiles could now suggest that... Uncharted 5 is being developed.
This can be inferred, among other things, from the information provided by Visual Arts' Michael Mumbauer, according to whom the project is an action-adventure game based on an existing Sony brand.
“We are building a brand-new, all-star AAA action/adventure development team for PlayStation. This team, based in San Diego and utilizing proprietary engine technology, has been assembled to expand an existing franchise and create brand-new stories for the next generation of players.”
Previous recruitment materials for the study already mentioned a 3rd-person action-adventure game, which is why hopes for a new one are high. Uncharted are quite justified.
Whether this is actually the case will perhaps become clear in the coming months.
