Sorcery, released in May, is one of the first PlayStation Move games that aims to appeal to core gamers and not just the casual sector.
Creative Director Brian Upton has now explained why the game is perfectly suited for PlayStation Move rather than, for example, Kinect, and why it is also intended to appeal to core gamers.
"What we were trying to achieve was... it's more hardcore than most motion games. Most motion games are very, very casual. [...] We wanted something that is hardcore and has more depth and complexity."
Sorcery is not just supposed to give you the feeling "Oh, I can press a button.", but the player should feel like a more powerful player as a result.
"PlayStation Move is precise; it allows us to create a very technically focused, skill-based motion control game. I think this title does an excellent job of demonstrating why PlayStation Move is a better and different system than other motion controls out there. It's more accurate, it's cleaner, and much more precise—I don't think you could implement a game like this with Kinect or the Wii. Technically speaking, I don't think they could support this type of gameplay."
Whether Sorcery will truly be the wonder weapon for PlayStation will be revealed on May 25th, when the game is released.
