Without a doubt, Sony has lost much of its leading position in the consumer electronics sector in recent years. The glory days of the PlayStation 2 are long gone, and other business areas are also suffering from competitive pressure.
Sony's CEO and President Kaz Hirai reaffirmed their commitment to not simply giving up, stating that they intend to continue delighting their customers with their products. According to Hirai, Sony's deeply ingrained DNA of inspiring customers with fantastic products remains intact. He described it as the heart of the company. His task now, he said, is to ensure that these products reach their targets and don't get lost in bureaucracy.
At CES yesterday, Hirai already said that the company will continue to focus strongly on the three core segments of Gaming, Digital Imagine and Mobile, which form the core business at Sony.
