Bandai Namco had already announced 'SoulCalibur 6' on Friday. revealed in a first trailer, with more information and gameplay scenes to follow at the PlayStation Experience this weekend.
SoulCalibur 6 is set in the 16th century and revisits the events of the original SoulCalibur to uncover hidden secrets. The heroic battles take place in a beautiful and fluid world with visually stunning graphics. Nearly every system, from movement and combat to visuals, has been revamped, allowing players to experience dynamic and intuitive battles.
The most significant new feature in SoulCalibur 6 is likely the Reversal Edge, which allows players to further refine their combat tactics by immediately launching a powerful counterattack after a successful parry. These tactics are also impressively showcased using a dynamic camera. The Reversal Edge feature is also explained in detail by producer Motohiro Okubo in one of the new gameplay videos.
Furthermore, SoulCalibur 6 promises multiple fighting styles within its diverse roster of heroes, each with their own deadly weapons, styles, and visual flares. Confirmed characters so far include Mitsurugi Heishiro and Sophitia Alexandra.
SoulCalibur 6 will be released in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
