Ubisoft will release their VR arcade shooter 'Space Junkies' in March, after it can initially be experienced in location-based VR stations.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the game is powered by a new proprietary virtual reality engine (Brigitte) that allows teams to work seamlessly in virtual spaces and adapt to VR pre-production and production. Space Junkies offers a fast-paced multiplayer action experience in three-dimensional space arenas and utilizes full VR immersion to put players in intense zero-gravity combat.
The PlayStation VR version of Space Junkies will support the DualShock 4 controller and features a unique navigation system that allows players to fly at high speed through immersive, vertical battlefields. Players can also utilize Sixaxis controls to create a unique sense of body awareness in virtual space.
At launch, Space Junkies will offer 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all modes, along with a wealth of weapon and customization options across six different indoor and outdoor arenas. Each arena features unique tactical zones, dynamic lighting, and destructible environments. Every battle will feel unique, and players will need their wits and combat skills to avoid being pummeled from all sides. Additionally, the game will receive post-launch content updates, including new modes, maps, weapons, and customization items.
Several testing phases will take place before launch, including an open beta across all platforms. Players can register via this link to participate in the closed tests.

Those waiting for the official release of Space Junkies can already enjoy a comprehensive, unique experience with Space Junkies Arcade, a special version of the game that in more than one hundred VR arcades Available worldwide. Prior to its launch, the Virtual Athletics League will also kick off an international tournament on February 19th in partnership with Ubisoft, Springboard VR, and HP. The competition will pit the best teams from participating arcades against each other.
