Square Enix has released a remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story It has been announced that the game will be released this November. The role-playing game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and on Steam.
Star Ocean: The Second Story It features a 2,5D art style that blends beautiful 3D worlds with nostalgic 2D pixel characters. The aim is to offer both a classic RPG and a modern gaming experience, retaining familiar features that distinguished the original while also introducing new gameplay elements such as fast-paced real-time combat and new mechanics for strategically defeating enemies. Furthermore, the party's development can be customized with a variety of skills such as cooking, painting, smithing, and more.
In addition, three new difficulty levels were introduced: EARTH for a relaxed journey, GALAXY for a pleasant challenge, and UNIVERSE for experienced players who want to put their skills to the test.

The game tells the story of Claude, a Federation officer who lands on a mystical planet. Searching for a way home, he encounters a girl named Rena, who involves him in saving her people, as foretold by an ancient prophecy. Players begin their adventure as either Claude or Rena. Depending on their choice, the perspective and available allies, who can be recruited as party members, will change. The private action system also allows players to build relationships and unlock different endings.
