Responding to fan requests, EA and DICE are releasing a campaign in 'Star Wars: Battlefront II' this fall. While it will follow a linear approach, it also aims to offer different perspectives.
For this reveals DICE's Mark Thompson explains that they work closely with Lucas Arts to capture the authentic Star Wars storytelling, analyzing the films, etc., to create a seamless story in the end.
"So yes, it's an ongoing story with a beginning and an end, and you follow Iden's journey over 30 years, from the end of the Jedi to 'The Force Awakens' at Starkiller Base. It's not a discrete set of missions or separate war stories like in Battlefield 1 – you follow Iden through his journey, while from time to time you switch to the side and play from the perspectives of legendary heroes, as that's part of the Battlefront DNA. Sometimes you're a trooper, sometimes a pilot, and sometimes you're Luke Skywalker with a lightsaber."
DICE had already previously explainedThat Star Wars offers far more than just one side of the story. With 'Star Wars: Battlefront II', the opportunity is seized to tell a story from the Empire's perspective, something many fans have long been eager to do.
Star Wars: Battlefront II will be released this November.
