EA and DICE not only have the Star Wars: Battlefront II – Celebration Edition not only officially confirmed, but also presented the content of The Rise of Skywalker update in more detail, which will be released to coincide with the new movie.
With the The Rise of Skywalker Update Among other things, you can expect a brand-new jungle planet where you can play on the side of either the Resistance or the First Order, as the conflict spreads further and further across this tropical paradise. In addition, there are four new heroes and villains.
Joining the First Order are the Sith Trooper, a ruthless soldier distinguished by his speed and advanced weaponry, ready to hunt down and destroy anyone who stands in his way. Alongside the Sith Trooper, the First Order's Jet Trooper will make its debut, equipped with new training and jetpack gear to help it achieve dominance over the Resistance. Gain aerial superiority by wielding a grenade-loading blaster rifle while dodging, hovering, and maneuvering through the air. Fighting for the Resistance are the Gunners and the Spy, two new alien species from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
For co-op mode, the sequel trilogy will also be available on the following maps: Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller Base, and the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker-inspired planet. Additionally, Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren will make brand-new appearances based on The Rise of Skywalker. These appearances are available to all owners of the Celebration Edition, as well as for Credits and Crystals.
The release of this update also differs slightly from previous ones. It starts on December 17th, with the exception that the new planet will follow in the planetary rotation from December 20th onwards.
In January, the Sequel Trilogy continues with new content, bringing it to Instant Action and Capital Supremacy, including the Resistance MC85 and First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer. BB-8 and BB-9E will also be added as two new heroes.
