Since the release of the PS5 Pro, which boasts PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution (PSSR) technology, gamers' expectations have been high. Many had hoped for a remarkable increase in graphics quality, but in reality, many are facing a surprising problem – especially in the performance modes of certain games.
A striking example is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, where the PSSR technology apparently isn't working as expected. Videos and player reports show a shimmering image, which is particularly noticeable in 60 FPS mode. Instead of delivering the promised graphical improvements, the quality even seems to be worse than on the standard PS5. The suspicion is that... an outdated version of PSSR, since apparently the first iteration of the upscaler was used. This version seems to be incompatible in some way and thus delivers a disappointing result. The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor It runs on the Unreal Engine 4, which is not optimally compatible with the latest technology.
EA is actively working on a solution.
Despite numerous complaints from the community, Sony has yet to issue an official statement acknowledging or commenting on the problem. Electronic Arts has been the only party to respond. which explain on XThey are aware of the error and are "actively" working on a solution. However, it remains unclear when the problem will be fixed. Players who were hoping for a smoother 60 FPS and improved graphics will have to be patient for now.

However, the problem is not only on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor limited. Other titles, such as the remake of Silent Hill 2 (Bloober Team) Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Activision) and EA Sports FC 25 They exhibit similar visual glitches. The unwanted effects are particularly noticeable in Performance mode, where the improved resolution enables 60 FPS. This problem therefore primarily affects the 60 FPS modes that rely on the PS5 Pro's enhanced resolution.
Aside from that, there are the usual teething problems that aren't expected with new developments. The developers anticipate that the second and third waves of games, which fully utilize the PS5 Pro, will be absolutely breathtaking.
[UpdateIn a brief update, Bloober Team also approvedthat they are investigating issues with Silent Hill 2 on the PS5 Pro, which may be due to the same background.
