The Star Wars project, now being developed by EA Vancouver, has already had a real rollercoaster ride. Originally launched as 'Star Wars 1313', it was transformed by Visceral Games into a linear story-driven adventure, which ultimately didn't satisfy the publisher either. EA Vancouver has since taken over the project and is now crafting an open-world game from it.

Although official details are still being withheld, Motive Studios' Jade Raymond has now spilled the beans. a little bit about it, some of whom are involved in the project. The aim is to create an open game world with a focus on player freedom, almost the opposite of what Visceral Games had planned. They declined to reveal any further details.

It was further stated that the team was very experienced and strong, having previously worked on titles such as SSX, Skate or Need for Speed, but also on non-sports games such as Sleeping Dogs, Prototype or other open-world games, as well as some who still came from the original development team.

Furthermore, they emphasized that they have access to a vast amount of Star Wars assets, as well as to the existing work on the game. However, they declined to comment on how much of what, or even if anything at all, will be used. They do, however, intend to incorporate the coolest ideas and creations developed so far, wherever possible.

However, when the game will premiere remains uncertain.
