Respawn Entertainment (Apex Legends) is one of the developers currently working on the Star Wars series and developing a first-person shooter. They are drawing inspiration from, among other things, the Jedi KnightSeries.
The game has not yet been officially announced and is currently untitled. However, new developers are currently being sought for the project, which will... Jobs (via LinkedIn) the latest clue is coming.
It reads:
"In collaboration with Lucasfilm, the Star Wars FPS Team is developing a new AAA FPS set in the Star Wars galaxy. Inspired by classic titles like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, our story-driven single-player game is being built from the ground up, utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5. We're combining this inspiration and technology with Respawn's best-in-class shooter experience to deliver a brand-new experience that our players will love."
The project currently appears to be in its early stages of development, as there are still numerous positions to be filled, including a Cinematic Lead, a Senior Character Artist, a Rendering Engineer, and others.
When the official unveiling of the game can be expected is therefore completely unclear. Respawn is also currently developing... Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is being released this April, and still has long-term plans for Apex Legends, for which another studio has recently been opened.
