To properly showcase the upcoming wreck-and-ride title 'Steel Rats' at Gamescom in August, a gigantic robot, the 'Screamer', was brought to life. The 'Screamer' is one of the deadliest enemies you'll encounter in the game.
Steel Rats combines brutal motorcycle battles, death-defying stunts, and a visually stunning dieselpunk world with 2.5D action-arcade gameplay. The heroic biker gang is destined to confront a horde of alien scrap robots, the Junkbots, and now one of the game's deadliest enemies has made the leap into real life. This colossal robot is also the most impressive way to experience the game.
The gigantic structure was welded together in over 90 working days using more than 500 individual steel parts. It also incorporates five LCD monitors on which the game can be played in Cologne. Visitors to EGX Rezzed in London and Pixel Heaven in Poland have already seen "Screamer" in action – and next, visitors to gamescom in Cologne can look forward to seeing it.
The making-of video gives you a sneak peek today. It shows how the ingenious Polish custom workshop Ride Again brought this metallic monstrosity to life as a demonstration piece and work of art from scrap metal.
