Embark Studios is feeding the community prose while players wait for substance. The recently released "Scout Report" for "Arc Raiders" is the narrative precursor to the "Riven Tides" update, which promises the first major map addition since the game's launch in October.
Behind the lines of a scout lies the confirmation of a new coastal region that will massively expand the vertical gameplay through a dilapidated hotel resort and an industrial port.
Dilapidated luxury villas instead of loot tables
The new Panorama Azzurro zone is designed as a stark contrast to the previous bleakness. The area combines a sprawling hotel resort – including a rooftop bar and pool area – with a dangerously open beachfront. Players must prepare for long sightlines and little cover before reaching the dense, industrial atmosphere of the port.
Embark explicitly mentions Wasp patrols on the beach and a new, flying threat over the docks, hinting at the announced "Large ARC Threat." The fact that the scout in the text takes off her boots to feel the sand is a nice touch, but it does little to help the raider under fire.

The Expedition 3 Controversy
Alongside the map preview, Embark is causing discontent in the active base. This coincides with the "Riven Tides" update for "ARC Raiders“The third expedition window starts on April 28, 2026, radically changing the rules for skill points. Instead of collected currency, only damage dealt within an extremely short five-day timeframe now counts.”
Those who hoarded millions of coins to progress are now sitting on useless metal, while the pressure to actively participate within the time limit increases. This change is being criticized in the community as an artificial way to extend the game's length, while the studio is selling the atmosphere of the new coastal area as compensation.
The release window for Riven Tides is set for April 28, 2026, in line with the previous monthly updates. In addition to the map, a new Raider deck type and fresh quests are expected, which will delve deeper into the backstory of the Exodus ports.
The vertical structure of the docks and the tidal flooding mechanics promise dynamic changes to player paths during a round. As usual, the studio statement leaves open the question of whether the technical optimizations can keep pace with the ambitious Unreal Engine 5 visuals of the new map.
Anyone who still finds motivation after the coin devaluation will at least get a nice backdrop for the next wipe on April 28th.
