Capcom today revealed official details about the story of 'Street Fighter V', as well as initial DLC plans for the game.
When Street Fighter V launches in February, players will be able to access individual character stories that reveal important background information about each character, their roles in the game, and their relationships with other characters. These stories are presented in a throwback art style by the renowned Japanese illustrator Bengus, who has also worked on previous installments of the series.
The character stories also serve as the prologue to the Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion Pack, which will be released in June and will be free for everyone. The story takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, thus bridging the gap between the two tournaments and their events. This is also the first time ever that fans of the series will be able to experience the story in cinematic format.
Starting in March 2016, players will also have the opportunity to purchase additional characters using Fight Money before the in-game store opens. This gives players ample time to earn enough Fight Money within the various single-player modes. There will be no additional downloadable content available at launch in February.
Finally, Capcom today announced another BETA test, which will take place from January 30th to 31st and offers the last chance to take a look at the game before its release.
