I'm super disappointed; nothing I wanted was presented, and it was always those zombie things. The State of Play was better. Let's see if anything else comes out at the Xbox show.

The mere announcement of another high-quality remake of the Resident Evil franchise and the long-awaited sequel to the best survival horror game of all time has confirmed for me that PlayStation has many more top-tier titles in store for us. Hopefully, Creative Assembly manages to optimize UE5 nicely for the current generation of consoles; otherwise, it'll be played on the PS6.

I'm curious to see how the Summer Game Fest will continue with all the representatives.

Aside from the interludes by our infamous puppet Geoff, I'm expecting a solid to downright awesome show, but I've hardly ever been disappointed in that regard in recent years, as I've learned to adjust my expectations and needs to current events. Gamers are the most difficult group to satisfy in modern times; anyone who's even glanced at any comment section in recent years (God of War Laufey, anyone?) knows that common sense has gotten stuck somewhere between utopia and a complete lack of self-worth, quite literally.

With that in mind, enjoy the show and have a great start to the weekend.

The biggest gaming stream of the year remains The Game Awards... clickbait as it's finest, as always 😉

My advice: don't go with anything too extreme.
Expectations are high. I think the highlight will be RE Code Veronica, along with many indie titles and a lot more for 2027. Maybe one or two surprises for October and December 2026.

Anyone who doesn't understand the difference between a seasonal trade fair and an awards show in December should be extremely careful with the term "clickbait".

The Summer Game Fest in June is the logistical epicenter for the entire rest of the gaming year, where global release dates for the holiday season and shortly thereafter are finalized. Anyone who dismisses the event as a mere stream is ignoring the reality of the industry. The Summer Game Fest is driving the markets now.

The Game Awards in December, on the other hand, are an end-of-year show that relies almost entirely on vague teasers and distant announcements. Anyone who confuses these two formats doesn't understand how the industry works. So next time, think before you comment. 😉

A logistical epicenter without PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox. By the way, clickbait is spelled correctly, and you can't post it; there's probably a reason it's on the censorship list 😉

I've been watching SGF since it started, and yes, there have been some great highlights (like the first Elden Ring gameplay in 2021), but honestly, often two hours of gameplay is meh and the pacing is terrible. There have been some really good years like 2023, but 2022 and 2024 were meh, 2025 was quite good.

The Game Awards are by far the most popular and largest format, and the GOTY awards are nice and of course worth discussing, but let's be honest, everyone only watches it for the trailers, and that's where the biggest announcements take place.

My answer was simply censored/deleted; someone must have the last word.

I had no more arguments or reasons for the censorship, there was nothing bad in it ^^
It makes sense to alienate regular customers, no wonder the comment sections are so empty...

Nobody censored or deleted anything here. Due to the rapid succession of posts, your comment was simply caught in the automatic moderation queue and is now publicly visible online. Anyone who immediately starts ranting about censorship during perfectly normal, technical approval processes disqualifies themselves from any objective discussion.

Regarding the content: You still haven't understood my criticism of the Summer Game Fest. The post didn't glorify the event in terms of its content, but rather pointed out its relevance to the upcoming Christmas season. That's a logistical fact.

The fact that you only watch the Game Awards for the trailers perfectly confirms my point: it's a show for distant announcements and hype. The Game Games Awards in June is what's happening in the industry right now, which is why publishers are currently panicking and postponing their September releases.

Lukas was absolutely right in his assessment. After your false clickbait claim, you're now just struggling to backpedal, trying to shift the goalposts, and playing the victim. Just let it go. 😉

The headline is and remains clickbait.
It's not the biggest gaming show of the year.
You write a lot but you can't refute this argument.

Ps
So, evil technology made my post disappear, uh-huh.
I'll leave your explanation as is.

You're still confusing a personal opinion with a logistical fact. The relevance of a trade fair isn't measured solely by the clicks of an awards show in the December lull, but by its real impact on the industry. That's the biggest lever of the gaming year. And no amount of stubbornness will change that.

And yes, the "evil technology" is called automatic spam moderation. Ask any web developer. But you're already on a roll with ignoring reality anyway.

Enjoy the stream starting at 23 PM. 😉

You're confusing the Summer Games Festival with Gamescom, hahaha
Which of us is in denial of reality due to a logical error?
SGF was launched as a purely digital event as a replacement for E3 due to Covid-19 in 2020.
Just like the TGA, the SGF is streamed from the Dolby Theatre Los Angeles with a live audience. Both the SGF and TGA revolve exclusively around "clicks/viewership" because this allows Geoff to sell his advertising slots accordingly.

Do your homework before you try to lecture me, young whippersnapper.

You're now indiscriminately lumping Gamescom and digital formats together simply because you've run out of factual arguments. That doesn't make your clickbait claim any more valid. The fact that Keighley moved the Summer Game Fest to the Dolby Theatre perfectly illustrates my point. He's desperately trying to give the show the pseudo-intellectual air of the Game Awards.

The fundamental difference remains. Gamescom is a physical consumer trade fair in Cologne – the German market plays absolutely no role in the global decisions and strategic budgets of the major publishers at these shows. The SGF in June is the digital focal point. Why else would Sony, Microsoft, the Future Games Show, and all the indie showcases hold their own major streams in exactly this one week? Because this is where the global momentum lies. This is where the worldwide release schedules and budgets for the Christmas season and the months that follow are dictated.

The goalpost cannot be moved any further.
