Developer nDreams has always been one of the leading developers of VR games, and will soon release their new game. Synapse He is extremely optimistic that it will be a true system seller and will be released for PlayStation VR2.

Unlike most productions for PS VR2, Synapse It was developed directly for the platform and not ported. Therefore, the development was a completely fresh start, allowing for the consideration of all features and technologies.

Head of nDreams Studio James Shepherd describes The result is a game that lives up to the claim of being a true system seller.

"It's a bit like what Wipeout did on the original PlayStation. You try to be the experiential, living embodiment of the hardware, like if I bought a PlayStation, you come to my house and I want to show you how brilliant it is – I want an experience that showcases all of that. You don't just want to present the hardware features, but the brand experience."

Developed from the ground up

nDreams was among the first developers to familiarize themselves with the PlayStation VR2 hardware. Even then, the first ideas emerged about what could be implemented with it.

“That was the most fun part for us, seeing all the things we couldn’t do with other headsets, like the eye tracking, the headset rumble, and the amazing feedback and haptics of the controllers,” adds CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh. “Developing an exclusive game means you can make it the best it can be and don’t have to worry about making it work on every single headset. So we really did a great job.”

Regarding the future of VR, nDreams anticipates steady growth as the technology continues to improve, barriers are broken down, and accessibility has become significantly easier. At the same time, they acknowledge that users are currently quite cost-conscious, but these hurdles will eventually disappear as well.

"It's not just about a system seller, but about the system selling itself in terms of user-friendliness in people's lives."

Synapse Released on July 04th exclusively for PlayStation VR2.
