Warner Bros. Games has released the latest gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Released – and it's causing quite a stir! In the spotlight: the legendary T-1000 Terminator from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), which will be playable for Early Access owners of the expansion starting March 18th. It will then be available to everyone starting March 25th.
A machine built for fighting
The T-1000 isn't just any fighter—he's Skynet's ultimate killing machine. His mimetic polyalloy, essentially liquid metal, allows him to transform into other people, fashion weapons from his own body, and eliminate his opponents with ice-cold precision. Anyone who thought Scorpion and Sub-Zero were terrifying hasn't seen this Terminator in action.
The trailer impressively showcases the T-1000's merciless fighting style: bladed arms, fluid shapeshifting, and high-tech maneuvers make him one of the most dangerous fighters in the game. But the highlight is his Fatality – and a nod to an iconic Mortal Kombat feature: The animalityAnyone who remembers the classic films knows that fighters could transform into animals. The T-1000 takes up this tradition in its own way – as a K-9 German Shepherd! A homage to the Terminator series and deadly fun for fans.
Madam Bo appears as a cameo fighter
Besides the T-1000, there is also a look at Madam Bo, a new cameo fighter who joins the battle with unique attacks and support techniques. She will also be available from March 18th as part of the expansion or individually.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns This not only brings one of the most iconic villains in film history into play, but also new features that make the fight even more brutal and spectacular. Who will rise to the challenge?
I have the feeling that T1000 is in the wrong game; he should have been in MK11, then it would have been a perfect match between T800 and Arnie.
If this really is the end for MK1, then I find that sad. MK11 and now MK1 had so much potential to dominate the franchise long-term. MK11 in Unreal Engine 3 can still compete with Tekken 8 in Unreal Engine 5 in terms of graphical quality. The crypt from MK11 was the blueprint for the World Tour mode in SF6 and looked even better. When it comes to story modes, NRS is in a completely different league than its Japanese competitors. NRS clearly has the wrong publisher. I hope there's no Injustice 3; I have absolutely no interest in it. I would prefer a kind of trilogy collection (like in the PS1 era) or an Armageddon 2.0 with all the fighters from X, 11, and 1.
T1000 gives me a Ninja Movie skin for 95 and it will become my main ninja; these liquid abilities look just too cool.
