Namco Bandai today announced the release of the critically acclaimed role-playing game Tales of Xillia.
Tales of Xillia is the latest installment in the popular Tales of series. Tales of Xillia tells the story of Jyde Mathis, a gifted medical student at the capital's university, and Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four unseen beings. At the start, the player can choose whether to embark on the adventure in the world of Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits live peacefully together, with Jyde or Milla. The kingdom of Rashugal has been experimenting with a powerful spring, causing it to drain mana from the world.
Jude and Milla realized that this posed a great threat to the world, and they embarked on a long journey to the Source to destroy it and return Mana to the world.
The latest version of the most dynamic combat system in a Japanese role-playing game allows players to link the attack or defensive actions of two characters using the Linked Combat System. Furthermore, swapping team members during combat opens up new tactical possibilities.
The title was developed in Japan by NAMCO BANDAI Studios Inc. and is the first collaboration between the two well-known character designers Mutsumi Inomata and Kosuke Fujishima, who have designed many characters for previous games in the Tales of series.
"After almost a year of waiting, we are very excited to finally be able to release Tales of Xillia, the latest title in the Tales of series, in Europe," so says Olivier Comte, Senior Vice President of NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe. "Due to the overwhelming success of the Tales of series in Japan and the high expectations in Europe, we are proud to let players delve deep into the story of Tales of Xillia before they can embark on the adventure again in 2014 with Tales of Xillia 2."
Tales of Xillia is now available in stores and as a download. The sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, which has already been a great success in Japan, has been confirmed for a Western release in 2014.
But even before fans can try their hand at the second Tales of Xillia, they'll have the chance to relive the Tales of Symphonia titles. This exclusive re-release not only offers stunning HD graphics but also a Japanese audio track. Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is scheduled for release in the West in early 2014.
